    St. Charles Parish Fish Dat Rodeo Saturday, June 5th.

    Due to high water and unsafe weather conditions, this event has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 5th.

    Put your skills to the test this Saturday, May 22ndJune 5th at the Bonnet Carre Spillway in the first St. Charles Parish Fish Dat Rodeo.

    There will be door prizes, awards for multiple categories and age groups, Norco Tackle is also adding a category.

    All proceeds go to both Destrehan and Hahnville High School Fishing Teams, and the St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department. 

    Boat or Bank

    No boat required!

    Anglers will be allowed to compete from the bank or a boat.

    With the river recently receding, the fish throughout the spillway and its ponds and lakes will be feeding!

    This is the perfect opportunity to get the whole family involved.

    Age Group Divisions

    • 12 and under* (bank only)*
    • 17 and under (boat or bank)
    • 18 and older (boat or bank)

    *Children 12 and under can fish from a boat with a captain but will compete under the 17 and under category.

    Species Categories

    The 1st-3rd place will be awarded to the heaviest fish of each of the following categories:

    • Bream
    • Bass
    • Sacalait
    • Catfish

    Additional Categories

    Miscellaneous- heaviest legal fish (excluding paddlefish).

    (Paddlefish and sturgeon should be released immediately unharmed.)

    Administrator Category- anyone working in the School System or St. Charles Parish government system.

    Grand Slam Award- heaviest total weight for a bass, bream, sac-a-lait, & catfish

    Rio Grande Cichlid- heaviest stringer of Rio Grande Cichlid will win a $100 Norco Tackle Gift Card**

    **This category is not an official category on Rodeo's website.

    Registration

    • $5.00 for kids 12 and under
    • $10.00 for anyone 13 and above
    • $10.00 for Boat Captains. Boat Captains are required to register whether they choose to fish or not.  

    The deadline to register is June 4th.

    The following Frozen Bait is also available:

    • Whole finger mullet
    • Shrimp
    • Cut bait
    • Squid
